More details released regarding Matt Imhof’s injury

As I reported HERE, Matt Imhof was seriously injured after Saturday’s game when the “arm care” bands he was stretching with broke free of their anchor and hit him in the face.

ESPN is reporting in THIS ARTICLE what my sources told me then, that he has had one surgery on his right eye with the possibility of others in the future.

I have since learned that he also broke his nose and he was immediately taken to one of the best eye clinics in the country located in Miami.

If you have a moment and you are the type to pray, keep Matt in your prayers for a speedy recovery.

Matt Imhof injured in freak accident

I have confirmed from several team sources that reliever Matt Imhof was seriously injured after last night’s game.

I was told that Imhof was stretching using “rubber bands” that were attached to a wall/fence by a clip. Reportedly, the clip broke free and sprung back into Imhof’s face.

The extent of the injury is unknown at this time and he is currently being treated for the injury.

Baseball Ross and I wish him a speedy recovery.

Tropical Storm Colin Leaves His Mark on the Phillies’ Carpenter Complex

June 1st is the start of the “official” hurricane season. This year, it took only 6 days for the first serious storm to hit the Clearwater area. Tropical Storm Colin never got to hurricane status but there were a few serious wind gusts that topped 50mph and rain varied from “only” 5 inches to almost 9 inches in Pinellas county.

Due to the state of emergency that was declared by the governor and the horrible weather, the Threshers cancelled Monday’s game. Dropping our houseguests at the field this morning revealed the extent of the damage to the Carpenter Complex. I took a “behind the scenes” video from the private drive along the back side of Brighthouse Field looking towards Schmidt and the more severely flooded Ashburn field. You can see the video HERE.

I also took a few stills which I’ve included below:

Let’s hope this is the last of the flooding and damage pictures for this hurricane season.

Ryan Howard’s Beachfront Home Near Completion

It’s been a few months since Baseball Ross and I made the pilgrimage to Belleair Shore to check on the progress of the monstrosity of a 17,000 soft home  that Ryan Howard is building on the beach.

The Tampa Bay Times noted that Howard spent $80K on doorknobs alone. After several years it appears that it is nearing  completion.  Gone is the construction trailers, white work men’s vans and portapotties that lined the front yard.

You can read my previous stories HERE and HERE.

The pictures I took on Mother’s Day are below:

Hopefully, Ross and I will have the time to take a walk on the beach side and I will post pictures from that side when we do.

Cody Asche Back in Uniform

I was pleasantly surprised to see my favorite Phillies fielder back in uniform tonight. He dons the grey and red of the Threshers for the game against the Tampa Yankees.

Cody is playing left and batting second.

Asche had been sidelined since spring training with an oblique injury.
